Is growth hacking technology only?

Well, the short answer is not technology is just a part of how this whole thing comes into play. Technology though plays a big role in accelerating growth hacking, but it’s not exclusive to it only. What I’m going to do in this video is I’m going to walk you through the evolution of growth hacking so you understand why technology plays an important role, but it is not technology only. The first ones, I’m going to throw this diagram right up onto the screen, so check this out. The first generation of growth hacking was actually hackers who were just doing code. Um, these guys, uh, we refer to a shadow growth hackers. There’s many of them that still exist, but we’re going to talk about that in another video in the future. Bring it all together

We’re looking at code plus marketing, so that’s technology and marketing coming together. Then the third generation, which is what we call cross functional growth hacking, and that is where we are today. That is essentially code plus marketing plus a function. A function could be strategy, operations, procurement, R& D, uh, HR and, and so forth because there are merely elements that come into play into a full fledge growth hack.
